A seed of hope card competition

We've gone competition crazy here at Made in Greenwich! Our Made in Greenwich Charitable Christmas Card Competition was a real hit. The cards provided 600 vital meals for local people and were a lovely way to feature the work of our talented artists and makers. In fact, the competition was such a success, that we're running another one! This time we're looking for entries for a new card to help us grow a little love. The idea is to create a kind of alternative Valentine card. It might be the sort of card you'd send to cheer up a friend, or you could think of it as a hug in the post. Many are going through difficult times at the moment and people are making enormous sacrifices to help others. So we think it's really worth celebrating love this year in all its forms. However, this card isn't just for Valentine's Day, we want it to work all year round Friendship, the natural world, growing local community - these could all be starting points. The design doesn't need to feature Greenwich, it just needs to bring a smile to someone's face. In fact we're planning to give away some seeds with each card too to help share a little joy. Please use whatever medium you wish - collage, drawing, printmaking, painting, photography etc. Whatever your design, it needs to fit a standard 5 x7 greetings card. We'll post the entries on our website for public vote, and the winner will have their card printed up by GCDA/Made in Greenwich to sell for £2.50 each or £10 for five. Each card sold will help fund local community gardening projects. Entries need to be in by 5pm on Wed Jan 27th. Voting will take place shortly afterwards and we'll get the card printed the following week. Please email maryjane@gcda.org.uk with your entries and label them SEED OF HOPE - good luck!!
