About the event

Think you ‘can’t draw’? So, what? Collage art is all made up. As a self-taught artist, Birungi Kawooya is confident she can teach you her technique, work through anxiety, focus your mind and create freely.

Create in small intimate classes of six (max), explore your identity and express who you want to be. Collage with paper, paint with African print textiles and leave with a framed masterpiece you’ll be proud of! Each session starts with a check-in, mindful breathing and warm-up drawing exercises which help you to relax and create wellbeing. You can draw freestyle or work from a picture to give yourself a head start. Who do you want to be? Imagine your future self and reimagine yourself into a work of art with Birungi Kawooya.

Birungi Kawooya has led Mindful African Art workshops for the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Black Mind, University of Arts London, Sheffield Maternity Cooperative and Peckham Platform.
